This 2/3" 2.2M 3-MOS P2 HD shoulder-mount camcorder is the first with native AVC-ULTRA recording and built-in microP2 card slots. The PX5000 features 720p and 1080p/i recording; and is also the first P2 HD camera that will record in full-resolution; 10-bit 1080/60p (in AVC-Intra100).
Panasonic's AVC-ULTRA offers master-quality and/or low-bit-rate 10-bit; 4:2:2 recording in Full HD to meet a variety of user needs from mastering to transmission. Addressing the need for high-speed file exchange; its high-resolution AVC-Proxy encodes in parallel with higher bandwidth production formats; enabling fast; efficient offline editing; at bit-rates from 3.5 megabits down to 800 kilobits per second. The AVC-Proxy files and Network function (wired/wireless LAN) make it possible to configure a workflow for previewing images; editing metadata; editing playlists; sharing networks; and uploading motion images quickly and at low cost with a PC/Mac; tablet; or smartphone.
The PX5000G incorporates a selection of AVC-LongG quality levels; including AVC-LongG50 and AVC-LongG25. Designed for applications where file size is critical; these 10-bit; 4:2:2 sampled codecs record in a much smaller file size; saving storage cost and transfer times over MPEG-2 while maintaining equal or better video quality. In the future; lower bitrate AVC-LongG12 will be made available.
The PX5000G offers optional AVC-Intra200 recording; which at twice the bit rate per frame of AVC-Intra100 is visually lossless; delivering a master quality codec in an affordable; file-based camera. The AVC-Intra200 option will yield a cost-effective approach to network-level program acquisition; film-outs and higher levels of color correction In addition to AVC-LongG and AVC-Intra100/50; the PX5000 offers standard recording in DVCPRO HD; DVCPRO50; DVCPRO and DV.
The camera has two microP2 slots and two standard P2 card slots; as well as an SD card slot for proxy/metadata recording. MicroP2 cards offer a faster transfer speed; smaller size (SD card size) and are lower cost compared to a P2 card.
Professional interfaces include MON out (can be set to output HD-SDI); HDMI out; HD/SD-SDI in/out; 3G-SDI out; genlock in for multi-camera operation; timecode in/out; USB 3.0 (host) and a two-channel UniSlot compatible wireless receiver.

Acquisition ⇒ Automatic Uploading
Recorded clips (proxy or actual files) are uploaded directly from the AJ-PX800G to a network. The new Rec During Upload function automatically uploads files to a network server in the background while recording.
On-air streaming (via the internet) is possible while recording mainstream video onto a memory card, using only the AJ-PX800G. This QoS (Quality of service) mode allows proxy images in Full-HD resolution to be streamed at a low bit rate by optimizing the bit rate to match the network condition.
Preview and Remote
P2 ROP APPWireless connection is supported via a wireless LAN. Clips recorded by a PC/Mac, tablet device or smartphone can be previewed and metadata can be checked and edited. P2 ROP App for iPad is also provided for multifunctional camera remote operation.
Even smoother operation is possible by using a cloud service. Proxy files that are automatically uploaded to a cloud server can be edited (remote playlist editing) from a network, and only the necessary data can be sent from the AJ-PX800G to an ingest server.
The AJ-PX270 is the first P2 HD handheld camcorder combining the high quality and incredible efficiency of low bit rate AVC-ULTRA recording and the flexibility of a 3G/4G/LTE wireless mobility. The 5-pound PX270 provides all the key functionality of the high-end; shoulder-mount camera (AJ-PX5000 P2 HD with AVC-ULTRA). It features newly-developed high-sensitivity; low-noise 1/3 type 3MOS imagers to produce stunning pictures; even in low lighting conditions.
With its innovative AVC-ULTRA codec; the AJ-PX270 features both low-bit rate and normal recordings. For high quality recording; the camera records in 100Mbps AVC-Intra100; as well as 200 Mbps AVC-ULTRA Class 200 (optional). For applications where file size is critical; e.g.; for wireless feeds; the PX270 records in low-bit rate AVC-LongG for extended recording and AVC-LongG25 enables extended 1920 x 1080 10-bit 4:2:2 broadcast-quality recording (four times longer than AVC-Intra100 for the same memory space).
A newly designed; compact; 22X zoom lens offers a wide 28 mm to tele 616 mm (35mm equivalent) zoom range. Its three manual operation lens rings â€” zoom; focus and iris -- provide a comfortable manual control similar to interchangeable lenses; but without the need for actual lens changes. The zoom ring's solid feel and smooth action allows delicate ultra-slow zooming.
In addition; the camera's multi-step zoom control provides fast response and smooth zoom action; providing the creative freedom every camera operator wants. And the zoom control on the handle enables variable speed zoom; allowing fine zoom control even for low angle shots.
The shoulder-type AJ-PX380G Camera Recorder raises broadcast picture quality and compact, lightweight mobility while adding functions that enhance network-based workflows and enabling simple, excellent cost performance operation. Its 1/3-type 2.2-megapixel 3MOS sensors achieve high sensitivity, high S/N, and a wide dynamic range. AVC-ULTRA* codecs let you select the most suitable bit rate for your purpose, from high-quality 1080/60p (50p) 4:2:2 10 bit recording to low-rate streaming and FTP transmission, for broadcast-level image acquisition. Network functions support wired LAN, wireless LAN, and 4G/LTE connectivity. A built-in Camera Adaptor function allows simple base station connection with two BNC cables for SDI input. All of this allows the AJ-PX380G to provide simple and cost efficient solution to a wide range of applications, from news gathering to relay, live streaming and studio camera operation.
Full-HD (1920 × 1080) proxy video can be streamed via a network connection (wired LAN, wireless LAN, 4G/LTE network) while recording mainstream video onto a memory card. The video can be received and played on a PC or Mac. “QoS”*1 stands for Quality of Service. Using this function, the bit rate is optimized to match the network condition and continue streaming distribution even when the communication bandwidth is reduced. This provides solutions for a variety of situations, such as news acquisition. While recording mainstream video, video for newsflashes can be streamed live*2 to a broadcast station from the field.
The Rec during Uploading function,* which automatically and sequentially transfers recorded clips to an FTP server or cloud service, has also been newly added. Uploading is done in the background, and recording/playback continues during the transfer. In addition to allowing the camera operator to concentrate on shooting without any concerns about uploading, this also boosts the levels of safety and immediacy. The transfer status can be checked on the LCD monitor or viewfinder. If the network is disconnected during transfer, or the power of the camera is turned off, transfer resumes when the connection or power is recovered. Manual transfer of up to 100 registered clips is also possible.
Full Frame Progressive Recording
1080/60p* (50p) full frame progressive recording is supported in the AJ-PX380G. In addition to being able to record with the AVC-Intra100 or AVC-LongG25/LongG12 codec, the AJ-PX380G is capable of camera through output from the SDI OUT 1 terminals. * 60p is actually recorded at 59.94 Hz.
HD/SD Multi Format/Multi Codec
In addition to 1080/60i, the AJ-PX380G supports 24p, 30p, 60p, and 720p multi HD format and SD recording. 59.94 Hz/50 Hz switchable is convenient for use in productions headed for global use. DVCPRO HD/ DVCPRO50/DVCPRO/DV recording is also supported.

AVC-Intra and AVC-LongG*1 modes support 24 bit/48 kHz/4 CH digital audio recording.*2 (16 bit for AVC-LongG12, DVCPRO HD, DVCPRO 50, DVCPRO and DV). The audio source can be selected for each channel, choosing from mic-in, line-in and wireless receiver.
With a new; advanced 1/3" 2.2-megapixel 3-chip imager featuring Ultra Luminance Technology (U.L.T.); the HPX370 delivers exceptional video performance for master-quality HD production. The shoulder-mount camcorder offers 10-bit; 4:2:2; full 1920 x 1080-resolution AVC-Intra recording with impressive levels of sensitivity and an interchangeable lens. The AVC-Intra codec is unrivaled for its full-raster; 10-bit; 4:2:2 sampling with none of the inherent compromises of 8-bit; long GOP and 4:2:0 recording. The HPX370 provides the ultra reliability of a solid-state design and the faster speed of a file-based workflow.
The HPX370 utilizes a 20-bit digital signal processor and high-resolution 3-MOS imagers; enhanced with U.L.T.; which boosts the sensors' performance to rival the image quality and sensitive of ½" imagers. The new U.L.T. sensor results in marked improvements in sensitivity; measured at F10. These high levels of sensitivity and image quality have been achieved with a new high-sensitivity photodiode and low-noise pixel transistor; both based on low-noise analog process technology. The same levels of sensitivity and image production that characterize the interlace mode are now possible in the progressive mode courtesy of Progressive Advanced Processing (P.A.P.); a 3D adaptive processing technology.
With the flexibility of an interchangeable lens; the HPX370 can be used with 1/3" to 2/3" lens adapters for use with existing 2/3" zoom and prime lenses. The camera offers a broad range of creative features including variable frame rates; advanced gamma functions including a new Cine film-like gamma; Chromatic Aberration Compensation (CAC); built-in scan reverse; Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS) function; waveform and vector scope display and focus assist tools. The HPX370 also comes equipped with flash band detection and compensation software built-in for improved CMOS performance.
